Back Down To The River

For the past few years, once the worst of the frost has gone and our week of British summertime looked like it might be imminent, I’ve organised a “Nude In The Landscape” workshop at my friend’s beautiful riverside smallholding in rural Warwickshire. Even the rain hasn’t been able to spoil these lovely art nude photo-shoots.

And I’ve done it again. This year’s event takes place on Sunday 25th June starting at 10:30am and I’m delighted to announce that the model on this occasion will be the stunning Cally, a wonderful model who has previously featured in other location art nude events for me.

Here are a couple of images from the last event featuring the superb Rosa Brighid to give you an idea of the setting…

Re-edit: Art Nude with Hannah

Looking through old hard drives for individual images for a client is a tedious business but occasionally leads to rediscovery of images you’d almost forgotten. In this case, the lovely Hannah was photographed as part of one of my “Portfolio Booster” courses. The original image was very pleasant as it was but Hannah’s very “classical” look inspired me to re-edit it with a more “painterly” look.

And once I’d found one, I was on a roll and couldn’t resist doing a second along the same lines…

Force Of Nature: Tanya Atherton

Tanya Atherton

Tanya Atherton

Tanya Atherton is a force of nature. I was exhausted just watching her rapidly go through her repertoire of several million poses during the FOTO-CLUB “Special Studio Evening“. I don’t anyone would suggest you don’t get value for money with Tanya – she’s a photographer’s dream! Whether working at the wall, on the floor, or using the paper backgrounds, she was unbelievably creative, utilising every item of clothing and every inch of her body to provide a seemingly infinite range of looks.

We’ve booked some amazing models for the “Special Studio Evenings” (including Amber Tutton, Ivory Flame, Stephanie Dubois, Salleh Sparrow, Valis Volkova, Natalia Fox etc) and Tanya certainly earned her place among them. A great fun shoot.

The Sweeney

You may have seen my last post about the excellent Daniel Specta who was one of two male models booked for the final session of the Portfolio Booster II course? Well, here is the other model from that evening – Sweeney. Sweeney has enjoyed some success as a rock guitarist but is such a lovely, gentle and polite young man (God, I must really sound old). I saw his portfolio online and decided at that moment that I must find a reason to photograph him. It didn’t occur to me later but I do think Sweeney looks rather like early Human League era Phil Oakey. What do you reckon?Anyway, here are a few of my favourites from the many images produced that evening…

Playing With Textures 2

Here’s another image that I created during a Photoshop tutorial that I decided I rather liked…

Again, it’s a recent image of Rosa Brighid from the FotofiliaNude in the Urban Landscape” shoot, adding a texture that I downloaded from the brilliant “Skeletal Mess” a couple of years ago.

Playing With Textures

I was giving someone some one-to-one Photoshop training a week or so ago and in order to demonstrate the versatility of the Layers function, I played around with a recent image of Rosa Brighid from the FotofiliaNude in the Urban Landscape” shoot, adding a texture that I downloaded from the brilliant “Skeletal Mess” a couple of years ago. I was actually very pleased with the result. What do you reckon?…
